Response to Lead Blog Post #9 (We're the Millers)

I have not watched We’re the Millers in a while and I had forgotten about all of these hilarious scenes! One of my favorite scenes is when they have the bag of cocaine and pretend it is a baby. The family from the other RV is so excited and the mom asks if she can hold it. Rose (the "mom") freaks out and does not know what to do so she throws it in front of a car that drives by and the mother from the other family starts freaking out. That scene makes me laugh every time! Another scene that I find funny is when Casey’s finds a boyfriend named Scotty P with a bunch of tattoos. On his chest, he has “NO RAGRATS” tattooed in huge letters. Casey’s “parents” are talking to him and Brad brings up that he has cool tats. He asks about the “No ragrats” tattoo. Brad says to him “So you have no regrets. Not One. Not even a single letter.” and of course Scotty P replies that he likes all of the letters. When the movie first came out I can just remember everyone joking about having “no ragrats in reference to the movie. This movie definitely causes nonstop laughter. Your favorite scene is a good one too. I remember watching the movie for the first time and just cringing at it but also finding it hilarious at the same time. It is definitely a great movie if you're looking for a good laugh!

  1. I have never watched "We're the Millers" but I do remember seeing the scene with the guy with the tattoo. It must have been in one of the commercials or trailers for the movie. I feel like there have been a ton of other jokes that have stolen this idea from the movie. I recently saw a milky way commercial where a tattoo artist giving a tattoo is eating a milky way and misspells "regrets" in a different way.

  2. I laughed out loud just from hearing the description of the scene with the bag. That's a pretty rare joke that can make someone laugh just from describing it. Perhaps it's in part because I can picture the actual actors doing these things. And they have perfect delivery in the actual movie. But even just the description is enough to evoke the essence of the humor.
